My sustainable Christmas guide: A 2025 edition

The most enchanting time of the year has arrived! I feel this magic every morning as I step into the kitchen and inhale the comforting scent of cinnamon, or when I wrap myself in a wool blanket that seems to magically appear as December arrives. I adore how London takes a moment to slow down (kind of), glowing with twinkling lights in every café, people in wool coats at street corners, and that serene hush in the air that only winter can bring.

With this wonderful season comes the cherished tradition of giving, selecting something meaningful for those who enrich our lives. This year, rather than opting for rushed, generic gifts from large retailers, I wanted to take the time to create a guide that truly reflects the essence of thoughtful giving. These gifts are not merely objects but heartfelt messages. They celebrate craftsmanship, promote sustainability, and uplift communities. They are gifts imbued with intention.

So here it is, my curated Christmas gift guide, crafted as if I were sitting beside you, sharing mulled wine, and saying, “Oh, I know just the perfect gift for them.”

THE GIFT OF JEWELLERY

Jewellery has an enduring quality that makes it a special gift. It is intimate and personal, almost symbolic. A piece of jewellery becomes an extension of the wearer, serving as a delicate sculpture they carry with them through their daily lives and cherished memories. It embodies sentiment in a way that few other items can. When I select jewellery as a gift, I’m not merely presenting a beautiful object; I’m conveying, “I see you. I understand your style. I know what will make you shine.” Furthermore, when the piece is crafted sustainably, ethically, and thoughtfully, the gift gains even greater significance.

Astor & Orion is one of those rare brands that places sustainability right at the core of design, not as an afterthought. Their jewellery is crafted from recycled precious metals, and each piece is created so that it can be melted down and reused at the end of its life: the true circular model. Their production uses responsible casting methods, their materials are ethically sourced, and their ethical manufacturing standards are transparent rather than vague.

If you gift someone jewellery from Astor & Orion, you are gifting them a piece with a story, one that has been thoughtfully designed to tread lightly on the earth. Their nature-inspired motifs (think moth wings, botanical patterns) make them perfect for someone who feels connected to the rhythms of nature.

J’evar Co creates sustainable fine jewellery using lab-grown diamonds, which are chemically identical to mined diamonds but created without deforestation, mining pollution or harmful labour conditions. Their philosophy is that beauty should never come at the cost of environmental harm or human exploitation. Their pieces feel elegant and contemporary: clean lines, balanced proportions, understated sparkle. When you gift from J’evar, you’re also gifting peace of mind, because you know, without question, that the diamond came from a responsible source. For partners, daughters, sisters or dear friends, it strikes a beautiful harmony between luxury and ethics.

MONBOUQUETTE JEWELLERY

Monbouquette  is playful, inventive, and utterly charming. They specialise in clever ways of transforming earrings: pieces that can be worn in different positions and lengths, almost like jewellery with movable mechanics. It’s the kind of gift that immediately fascinates the person opening it; they start playing with it right away, turning it, trying different shapes, smiling at the surprise. These are pieces that spark curiosity and conversation. They’re the kind of objects that feel like tiny kinetic sculptures, celebrating ingenuity and elegance in equal measure.

If you want true elegance, the type of pieces that feel eternal, Lark & Berry is where I’d direct you. They were one of the early pioneers of lab-grown diamonds in luxury jewellery, and their commitment to traceable metals and recycled materials makes them exemplary in the space of responsible adornment. Their designs tend to be refined: delicate diamond studs, gentle constellation motifs, minimal gold with subtle sparkle. Gifting Lark & Berry feels like gifting something substantial, soulful luxury without ethical compromise. It’s the perfect gift for that someone special in your life.

Heavenly London creates pieces that feel wonderfully romantic: lockets, pearls, intricate vintage-style settings crafted using recycled materials. Their pieces carry a sense of memory and nostalgia, almost like heirlooms that have stories embedded into them.

Their jewellery has that softness that reminds you of treasures found in antique boxes, but with modern sustainability in mind. For mothers, aunts, grandmothers, or anyone who appreciates graceful femininity, Heavenly London is a beautiful match.

THE GIFT OF CLOTHING

Clothing holds a unique personal significance. It interacts with our skin, moves alongside us, and influences our comfort and confidence. I take joy in giving clothing that feels like a warm embrace: crafted from soft fabrics, stunning textiles, and designed to endure rather than diminish over time. When you choose to gift sustainable clothing, you’re not merely offering an item to wear; you’re providing care for the planet, supporting responsible producers, and giving something that the recipient will truly live in. These are gifts that effortlessly integrate into everyday life.

I discovered Hēdoïne when I was frustrated by tights that snag, tear and ladder after just a couple of wears. Their solution is genuinely brilliant: they make ladder-resistant tights using sustainable yarns and a responsible production process, with recyclable packaging and low-impact dyes. Their pieces feel luxurious on the skin and, importantly, they last. A pair of Hēdoïne tights becomes something a woman actually reaches for again and again, not just for the season but for years. It’s a gift of elegance, durability, and thoughtful engineering.

Step One creates ultra-comfortable basics made from organically grown bamboo, designed to be breathable, moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating. Their underwear and loungewear are the kind that feels amazing on the body: soft, kind, unrestrictive. These are everyday garments that elevate comfort while reducing environmental strain. A gift from Step One feels like gifting someone a daily moment of comfort, whether they’re heading to work or lounging at home.

Boody specialises in silky-soft wardrobe essentials made from bamboo fibres. Their ethos is clean, minimal, functional and sensitive to skin. Their essentials, from sleepwear to bralettes, are wardrobe building blocks made to be worn and loved. Boody also adheres to ethical supply chain standards, ensuring fair conditions for textile workers. For someone who loves cosy basics or lives in neutrals, Boody is a thoughtful and timeless option.

Bellabu Bear brings joy into the home with their famous matching family sleepwear, crafted from sustainably grown bamboo. They make Christmas morning instantly more whimsical, and their fabrics are so breathable and soft that wearing their pieces feels like being gently wrapped in a cloud. They’re ideal for families, couples, parents and children. Gifts that create memories and photos full of love.

Neem is one of the best menswear brands working with regenerative fabrics and recycled fibres. Their shirts are beautifully made, with impeccable tailoring, thoughtful construction and sustainability embedded into every seam. They also pursue climate-positive pathways, including traceable fibres and carbon-responsible manufacturing. A Neem shirt is refined and timeless: a perfect gift for brothers, husbands or fathers who appreciate quality and craftsmanship.

Vegan Outfitters is cheeky, bold, and ethical. Their apparel is full of activism, humour and compassion, all printed on ethically made garments. Their sweatshirts and tees often carry punchy little messages that make vegans (and non-vegans) smile. If you’re gifting someone with a big heart for animals, or a loud personality, VO adds spirit to the gift experience.

AMEA gives us soft, silk-like essentials that are feminine and sensuous, but mindfully made using sustainable fibres. Their pieces drape beautifully, feel wonderful against the body, and offer a soft femininity that’s neither showy nor loud. It’s a gorgeous brand for gifting someone special, an elegant woman who loves softness and quiet grace.

THE MISCELLANEOUS

Some gifts don’t conform to a specific category; they are simply delightful, practical and thoughtful items that enhance everyday life. From elegantly designed stationery to soothing wellness products or uniquely imaginative books, these gifts reflect that you truly considered the recipient. These selected miscellaneous gifts frequently turn into daily essentials, cherished quietly, and remembered with affection. While they may appear simple, they often hold the most sentimental value.

Good Tuesday is one of my favourite stationery brands, creating diaries, notebooks and planning tools made from recycled paper. Their design aesthetic is minimal and beautiful, but what makes them special is the feeling of potential inside every page. Their 2026 diary in particular makes such a meaningful Christmas gift: a tool for new beginnings, intentions and possibilities.

Rena’s Organic takes wellness seriously, creating high-quality CBD formulas for stress reduction, sleep and chronic tension. Their formulations are pure, potent and carefully extracted. A gift from Rena’s feels like gifting someone wellbeing, the gentle kind that supports nervous system calm and winter restoration.

La Pochette brings chic practicality into sustainability with beautifully designed reusable storage bags, wet bags and pouch systems made from recycled plastic. They’re stylish, waterproof, durable and genuinely useful: for gym-goers, travellers, commuters, swimmers and anyone who loves being organised.

I’ve been loving alcohol-free spirits lately, especially as more of us are embracing a mindful drinking approach, whether that’s temporary or long-term. Brands like Clean Co make it possible to enjoy the ritual of a cocktail, the elegance of a well-stocked bar trolley, and the decadence of festive nightcaps… without the alcohol. A perfect gift for sober-curious friends, wellness-minded loved ones, or anyone who just enjoys a sophisticated drink.

This isn’t just a book, it’s an experience. Designed by sustainable fashion designer Vivienne Austin, the book includes over 80 themed word-search puzzles about fashion history, design, material innovation and sustainability. It inspires reflection on how clothing is made, how we value objects, and how design shapes culture. It’s the perfect cosy-evening gift for creatives, fashion students or curious minds, and its production supports reforestation efforts. It’s a gift that gives back twice: once to the recipient, once to the planet. Buy it here for next day delivery.

A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR

What I’ve discovered throughout the years is that the most meaningful gifts are those filled with care, not only for the recipient but also for the world around them. This guide serves as a heartfelt tribute to conscious gifting: presents that not only express love but also embody it. I sincerely hope this assists you in finding something truly special, a gift that feels significant to give and brings joy to receive.

Have a great Christmas,
